What Makes YOU Feel Powerful?

I feel powerful when I embrace my points of difference and use them as my unique advantage.

What advice would you give to your 15 year old self?

Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.

What is the first thing you do when you get home from a trip?

Pour a glass of wine, put my feet up, and listen to a podcast.

High heels or ballet flats?

Comfort over everything. I usually stick with a solid pair of heeled boots or sneakers.

An inspiring TED talk you loved.

Brené Brown's The Power of Vulnerability.

What do you like to do on a cold and rainy day?

Listening to old jazz records and sipping on a cup of green tea.

Who are your favorite women heroes?

Ms. Frizzle, Carmen Sandiego, Rhianna, Solange, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson – to name a few. But mostly I'm inspired and motivated by the women I interact with everyday.

What cheers you up?

Making/creating/doing something with my hands. If you come to my apartment you'll find all types of art supplies and things for crafting: water colors, color pencils, coloring books, Play-Doh, you-name-it! When it gets warm outside I also enjoy taking care of my plants, a new hobby I've been trying to keep up.

Favorite way to break a sweat?

Yoga and biking.

Your go-to mood enhancing thing or activity.

Walking through a museum while listening to music.

Your favorite city, and quick tips for traveling to that city.

NYC always leaves me feeling inspired and motivated. I usually let myself explore the city through food. If I'm having a craving I won't hold back. After a good meal I like to walk around with no particular destination – and I always tend to uncover something unexpected & surprising.

Favorite lipstick?

I'm a big fan of bright reds and corals but lately I've been digging natural tones.
